The staff, especially Orry and Byron at the bar, were great.
The road leading to the hotel was unpaved and quite rough, which could be challenging arriving at night.

Fantastic setting, very hospitable and attentive staff.
Reasonably large rooms with air conditioner, a laptop-size safe, and a TV, etc. Great views of the lake and volcano all around. Location near to the waterfall, kayak rental and a horse riding place. Also, to another restaurant at night...

La Omaja offered fine views of Concepcion from my room's deck. Comfortable beds. The infinity pool was perfect for watching sunsets while sipping on delicious mojitos. Breakfast included fresh fruit and local dishes, a nice surprise each day. The restaurant staff was helpful and made great recommendations for meals. Getting to the hotel was an adventure. The road was a challenge. Although I managed on a scooter, it was bumpy was nice. WiFi was spotty in my room, so I spent more time in the restaurant to stay connected. The stay was wonderful, even with a few bumps along the way.

Comfy beds made for restful nights after long hikes.
My experience was quite disappointing at Hotel La Omaja. The unpaved roads leading to the hotel were challenging, particularly at night, made arrival difficult. I noticed that the restaurant offered limited options, and the breakfast was quite repetitive, consisting only of two choices that became mundane very quickly.

The hotel was a fantastic place for our family getaway, especially with the grandkids. The pool area was lovely and provided a great environment for them to play. We also enjoyed the lush gardens and the chance to relax and take in the beautiful scenery.
My children wanted more kid-friendly activities on site.

It was just a balanced option for a transient stop in Merida with best value for money ratio. The staff was really helpful in arranging activities, like kayaking nearby. Expect to bring sturdy shoes for the unpaved roads outside. They can get quite rough.

The food was good, especially the Nica breakfasts. We went hiking to the waterfall and rented kayaks nearby for some fun water activities. The staff was super friendly.
We did have a bit of trouble with the road getting to the hotel. It was rougher than expected, so be prepared for that if you're driving.
